About the Position

The City is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Librarian to join the Library Services team, on a fixed term, part time contract effective immediately until 06 November 2024. 

The City’s Librarians provide and support front-line customer service by actively engaging with customers in the library, within the community and online. Librarians also develop and deliver a range of programs for audiences of all ages and assist with day to day supervision of staff and library operations.

This position is based at the Bayswater Library working 40 hours per fortnight. Applicants must have the availability to work the following rostered hours:

  • Monday 8.30am – 7.00pm
  • Thursday 8.00am – 5.30pm
  • Saturday 9.00am – 12.00pm (alternate)

About You  

To be successful in this role you will have excellent interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders and contribute to the team’s success.  You will need to be able to manage a number of initiatives at any one time and meet set deadlines, as well as demonstrate your ability to develop, promote, deliver and evaluate programs for audiences of all ages effectively.  You will need to hold a tertiary qualification that allows you Associate Membership to the Australian Library and Information Association, a current WA ‘C’ class motor vehicle driver’s license and if successful, be eligible for a Working with Children Check.
