Library Officer

The Shire of Exmouth is seeking motivated and community-minded individuals to join our team as a Library Officer.

Reporting to the Coordinator Community Development, you’ll help deliver an efficient, accessible and customer-focused library service while supporting the Exmouth Library as a welcoming community hub.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, creating positive experiences and bringing the community together. You’ll assist library users, deliver engaging programs and activities, support library collections and services, and help community members access information, technology and digital resources.

You’ll work across a variety of library activities, from customer service and day-to-day library operations to promoting programs, preparing newsletters and supporting initiatives that encourage learning, inclusion and community participation.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who is friendly, organised and customer-focused, with strong communication skills and a genuine interest in supporting the community. You’ll be confident using technology and digital resources, enjoy working with people of all ages and have the ability to plan, promote and deliver engaging programs and activities.

What we offer: This position is classified as a Level 4/5 under the Shire of Exmouth Industrial Agreement 2025 and comes with the following remuneration benefits:

Casual

  • L4 $46.49 per hour / L5 $47.28 per hour
  • Up to 22% superannuation (includes co-contribution by you)
  • Location allowance of $2,002 per annum (pro rata)

Part-time

  • L4 $37.19 per hour / L5 $37.82 per hour
  • Up to 22% superannuation (includes co-contribution by you)
  • Location allowance of $2,002 per annum (pro rata)
  • Housing allowance of $5,000 per annum (pro rata)
  • 5-weeks annual leave per annum (pro rata)
  • Eligibility for long service leave after 7 years of service (conditions apply), uniform, employee assistance program and other well-being services.
