Salary: Band 6 - $89,233 - $98,505 + 11 % superannuation 

Role includes an RDO  

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Hobsons Bay City Council Community Learning and Service Centres department as Team Leader of Family Engagement and Learning. This fulfilling role oversees the delivery of programs for early years, primary school aged children, young people and families across themes that engage lifelong learning in the community of Hobsons Bay.

 What you’ll be working on

As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to a team of professionals to ensure effective program delivery, high-quality customer service, and the acquisition and curation of age-appropriate, diverse, and inclusive materials for the library's collection.

  • Effectively leading, supervising, and motivating the Family Engagement and Learning team.
  • Planning, delivering, and evaluating children, family, and youth engagement programs.
  • Building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participating in the development of procedures and workflows related to library and collection services.
  • Using current technologies to enhance service delivery.

What you need to succeed 

  • Tertiary qualification in information management, community development, education, early childhood, or related discipline.
  • Experience in supervising and motivating teams working across multiple locations.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, collaborate, and manage stakeholders in a public sector environment.
  • Victorian driver’s license and the use of a motor vehicle.
  • Current Working with Children Check.

Pre-Employment Requirements 

Progressed candidates will be required to complete a National Police Check (mandatory for all) and a Pre-Employment Medical Check &WWCC (dependent on the position). 

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa with full unrestricted working rights. Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process.
