The Opportunity 
Noosa Council has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and customer-focused Library Assistant to join our team in a permanent part-time position, working 44 hours per fortnight. The role operates across a rotating roster, including weekdays and alternating weekends. 

Based at Cooroy Library and working primarily front-of-house, you will deliver high-quality customer service, support our community with their digital literacy needs and help create welcoming library spaces. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of engaging community programs, including Storytime sessions and Makerspace workshops.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Deliver outstanding customer service and create a welcoming library experience for all visitors 
  • Support the day-to-day operations and presentation of the library 
  • Assist in the delivery of library programs, events and activities that foster community connection and learning 
  • Provide guidance and support to customers using library technology, digital resources and information services 
  • Assist customers to locate information, resources and services that meet their needs 

Skills and Experience 

  • Experience delivering high-quality customer service in a busy environment 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with people from diverse backgrounds 
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating initiative and adaptability 
  • Experience supporting customers to access information, technology and digital services 

Qualifications 

  • Certificate III in Information and Cultural Services (Library) or equivalent qualifications (desirable) 
  • Driver Licence - “C” Class 

Position Roster (44 hours per fortnight) 

  • Week 1: Tuesday (9:00am - 1:00pm), Wednesday (8:45am - 1:00pm), 

      Thursday (10:00am - 5:30pm), Friday (12:30pm - 5:00pm) and Saturday (8:30am - 1:00pm) 

  • Week 2: Tuesday (9:00am - 1:00pm), Wednesday (8:45am - 1:00pm), Thursday (10:00am - 5:30pm) and Friday (12:30pm - 5:00pm) 

Please note rostered hours may vary in accordance with operational requirements.
