Are you looking for a taste of working behind-the-scenes at Mackay's largest public library? This temporary full time position until January 2025 is a perfect chance for a unique experience overseeing the Gordon White Library. Each day will bring opportunities. Whether it be leading our team in providing quality library services to our customers or taking pride in our library facilities and collection, your passion for libraries and their place in the community will shine through.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day library operations at Gordon White Library.
- Oversee the Library Courier service and MRCL fleet vehicle usage.
- Lead and mentor team members, focusing on performance management and capability development.
- Assist in coordinating staffing across our 6 library locations.
- Manage assets associated with the Gordon White Library.
This role incorporates various start times including 7.30am or 8am as per the roster.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Recognised qualification in Information and Library Studies (preferred), or related tertiary qualification and/or substantial relevant experience.
- QLD C Class Drivers Licence.
- Previous experience in customer service or library environment, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record in team leadership, performance management, and workforce planning.
