1x Permanent Full Time - 35 hours, days per week (Monday-Sunday Bandwidth)
Salary
: $61,914.64 - $67,611.92 + super

About This Role:

We are seeking a programs assistant who has a passion for engaging with people, a strength in delivering vibrant public programs and a love of literacy and storytelling. Library Assistant Programs is an integral role in the Outreach and Programs team and keeps our function moving while delivering excellent service.

  • You will facilitate programs across key focus areas each week for a range of audiences including children, youth and adults, as well as supporting the team with outreach, administration, planning and development.
  • You will also deliver quality customer service and reader’s advisory. You will have strong skills in communication, technology and organisation to support the team in the delivery of exceptional programs and outreach initiatives. 
  • The position is based at the newly opened Yellamundie Library and is required to provide face to face customer services across the library and its branches.

About You:

The successful applicant will have:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Library and Information Services or working towards
  • Experience working in a public library and a customer service environment.
  • Proven experience in the facilitation and provision of quality Adult, Youth &/or Children’s Programs.
  • Storytelling skills and ability to facilitate hands on activities with children, youth, adults, seniors and community groups.
  • Knowledge of and interest in children’s, youth and/or adult literature.
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; Strong administration and customer service skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and capacity to engage and build rapport with adults, children, youth and carers.
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
