Digital Marketing Officer

  • Permanent, part-time (23.5 hours per week)
  • Circa $75k plus super (pro-rata)
  • Four Darebin Libraries locations as required, currently working from home

About the Role

This role requires a proactive and enthusiastic individual to develop campaigns and strategies that engage our community and promote Darebin Libraries across a range of digital platforms. The ability to collaborate is essential in this role, you will need to be able to communicate well with others, be able to exercise discretion and good judgement, and able to take on constructive feedback. This role requires a problem solver, someone who can generate and understand ideas, processes and systems quickly, has excellent time and project management skills, and is a confident self-motivator.


  • Manage a range of digital applications including content management systems, electronic direct mail and social media platforms
  • Plan, develop and deliver marketing campaigns and promotional strategies that support the strategic directions of Darebin Libraries and engage the Darebin community
  • Write, source, and coordinate content suitable for internal and external communications platforms including social media, websites, newsletters, flyers and media releases
  • Participate in and lead projects relating to digital platforms with a focus on improving the user experience
  • Undertake rostered customer service shifts and associated duties

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, communication, advertising or public relations or equivalent
  • Advanced skills in the design, development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies and campaigns for a public library or community organisation
  • Strong writing and editing skills across various channels, with the ability to adapt writing style, tone and voice for different audiences
  • Experience in monitoring and managing conversations, and managing and mitigating risk on social media channels
