The Opportunity
We are looking a suitably experienced, enthusiastic and community focused library officer to join our Community and School library on a part time basis. While this is a part time library officer position, the successful applicant will have experience and enthusiasm towards delivering community programs as directed by the librarian. Your responsibilities will also include:
- Undertaking Library administrative and customer service related tasks (including cashiering);
- Maintaining, storing and caring for the library collection with mindful adherence to cataloguing and shelving procedures;
- Efficiently operating the Library Management System to manage library memberships, create reports and record information;
- Assisting patrons with Inter-Library loan requests and forwarding requests on to the Senior Library Officer for actioning;
- Creating library displays and promoting new resources;
- Providing assistance as required to ensure the success of library programs such as Story Time, Rhyme Time, other community programs, Kimberley Writers Festival and visiting authors;
- Support the Manager and work with other library staff to ensure services are delivered in conjunction with State Library of WA policy and procedures.
