About this opportunity
This role involves practically leading the local operation, maintenance, and development of library resources, services, and customer experiences at the Beaudesert Library.
The position is based in Beaudesert, but you may be required to work from any of Council’s library branches within the Scenic Rim.
Additionally, you’ll also …
- Lead the local delivery for library customer services, including concierge assistance, reference and research support, local inter-library loan coordination, readers advisory services, and on-the-spot digital literacy support.
- Work collaboratively with the Branch Librarian to develop and enhance the delivery of library products, services, and experiences, both locally and regionally.
- Take the lead in delivering and supporting innovative events and activities tailored to the needs of a diverse community. This includes promotions, outreach efforts, and programs designed for children, adults and seniors.
- Contribute to branch performance monitoring and evaluations to enhance library products and services to meet the evolving needs of customers.
About You ..
- Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Services or a relevant field and/or demonstrated experience working within a public library.
- A current Working with Children Blue Card or ability to obtain one.
- Demonstrated evidence of digital literacy including the ability to use web tools, Microsoft 365, and relevant applications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to build relationships with customers, colleagues, volunteers, and community groups, give presentations, deliver public programs and training.
