Customer Service Officer

Are you passionate about helping people and creating positive experiences? Join Your Library as a Customer Service Officer and play an important role in delivering exceptional service to our diverse community. 

Located at: Healesville Library

Classification: Band 3 Level A-D $67,363 – $74,216 pro-rata (Dependent on skills and experience)

  • Permanent, Part time – 16 hours average per week including 1 in 3 rostered Saturdays (Healesville)
  • 12% Superannuation

Roster:

  • Thursday
  • Friday
  • Saturday (1 in 3) Healesville 9:45am – 12noon (2.25 hours) + 1 hour OT

As a Customer Service Officer, you will: 

  • Provide friendly, customer-focused service that reflects Your Library’s vision and values. 
  • Promote and assist customers with library collections, programs, and digital services. 
  • Support a self-service environment and help customers confidently use technology. 
  • Contribute to community programs and events that inspire learning and connection.
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for all.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated understanding of customer service excellence in a busy public-facing environment.
  • Strong inter-personal skills, including the ability to respond promptly and courteously to customers who are accessing a diverse range of services.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving digital environment and assist members of the public to utilise library technology.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with people of all ages and from diverse backgrounds.

A current Working with Children Check and Driver’s Licence are required (or willingness to obtain).
