Regular rostered night shift (1x per week). Regular rostered weekend shift (1x per 6 weeks)
Salary range: $85,925.08 to $94,151.91 + super

About This Role:
We are seeking a Children’s Librarian who is a champion of early literacy, passionate about engaging with children and their carers and instilling lifelong learning from birth. This is a senior role within the Outreach & Programs team and will lead and facilitate innovative children’s programs that respond to and meet community needs.
With a focus on early childhood and primary school aged children, the Children’s Programs Librarian will drive improvements in developing, implementing, delivering, evaluating and reporting on children’s programs and partnerships.
The position is based at the newly opened Yellamundie Library and is required to provide face-to-face customer services across the library and its branches, as well as outreach events. This position also requires one evening shift per week and one weekend shift in a 6-week roster.
About You:
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Specialised knowledge in Children’s Programs, including developing, training and delivering programs.
- Passion for children’s literature, language and literacy development with ability to implement into children’s programs
- Team building, leadership and development skills, including staff training
- Strong understanding of public library environments including the roles, development and trends of public libraries.
- Ability to manage multiple projects within a set budget and timeframe
- Completion of degree or post graduate-level Library and Information Studies, conferring eligibility for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association. Or relevant tertiary qualifications in a related discipline
