THE OPPORTUNITY

The Dubbo Libraries Coordinator is responsible for developing operational policies, plans and programs for the Dubbo and Wellington Libraries that support community-focused needs and outcomes. Dubbo Libraries' operational targets, performance, and reporting are key responsibilities of the position. The position contributes to the regional library's planning activities, including marketing, promotion and event program planning.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversight of day-to-day Dubbo Libraries operation, assets and facilities
  • Undertake planning activities that provide excellence in library and information service customer experiences
  • Develop branch library plans for the broader community, targeted groups, and inclusive promotional strategies
  • Coordinate branch events, marketing, budget, training and grant applications
  • Provide input into the regional library's strategic, operational and policy plans and documents 

ABOUT YOU

You are a highly motivated and experienced Librarian with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You are a a dynamic, enthusiastic, and skilled professional who is committed to providing quality customer experiences, services and programs to the community, through your collaborative and innovative leadership.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

  1. Degree in Library and Information Science with eligibility for professional Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) membership
  2. Significant experience in developing and delivering high-quality library & information services
  3. Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating a team to achieve organisational outcomes and goals
  4. Significant experience in monitoring and evaluating library collections and service delivery
  5. Ability to lead initiatives that add value and enhance services and policies
  6. Well-developed understanding of current and emerging issues and trends in libraries
