Permanent Part Time (30 hours per week)

Band 5 – $73,296 - $85,054 Pro rata (+ 10.5% super)

About the role:

We are looking for a heritage and history specialist to join the Hobsons Bay Libraries team. Located on the traditional lands of the Bunurong in Melbourne’s West; Hobsons Bay has a varied history which includes First Nations, maritime, military, industrial, residential and environmental heritage.

We are looking for someone to provide positive leadership to our Heritage Portfolio and work to support and reflect the history of the diverse and varied communities of Hobsons Bay. This is a unique opportunity to work across history collections, exhibitions, research and events. You will also work regular customer service shifts on the library floor. Previous library experience is helpful but not mandatory and can be learnt on the job for a suitable candidate.

We have some exciting projects on the horizon including a digitisation project, reintroducing our volunteer program, improving the management of our First Nations collection and utilising interactive technology.

This position is predominantly based at the Heritage Centre at Williamstown Library but may run events and workshops across the municipality and may be required to work at any of the Hobsons Bay City Council sites as rostered. Weekend and evening shifts will be required.

A copy of the position description can be obtained by using the download feature below or by contacting our Customer Service team on 1300 179 944. For further information please contact Tracie Fairchild, Team Leader Library Services and Lifelong Learning on 03 9932 2057.
