The Opportunity

Maribyrnong Libraries invites applications from experienced Librarians who are committed to providing excellence in customer service. We currently have multiple weekend and casual roles available. As part of the Weekend Team you will provide efficient and effective library and information services, to meet the needs of the Maribyrnong community.

Role 1: 10.5hrs per week based at Footscray Library on Saturdays 9.50am - 5.10pm and Sundays 1.30pm - 5.10pm.

Role 2: 6.54hrs per week based at Yarraville Library on alternating Fridays 9.35am - 1.30pm and Saturdays 9.35am - 2.10pm

About You

The successful applicants will:

  • Have a tertiary qualification in librarianship, information management, community development, education, information technology, digital media or related
  • Experienced in the delivery of high quality and effective information services preferably within a public library environment
  • Demonstrated ability to provide hands on technical support with PCs and personal devices and to support digital literacy
  • Have the ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and plan and organise your own work, and the work of any employees under the incumbent's supervision, within the context of the library team environment
  • Have supervisory experience including the ability to prioritise and troubleshoot operational tasks in real time
  • Be confident in the delivery of library programs such as storytime and/or book club.
