Lane Cove Council has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, experienced and suitably qualified Library Assistant to join our team in a permanent part time position.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Systems Innovation Coordinator, this role is responsible for contributing to the provision of quality services at Lane Cove Library, including direct high level customer service and ensuring that library items are successfully processed and maintained.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Higher School Certificate or Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualifications and experience;
  • Demonstrated understanding of library operations including shelving and collection maintenance;
  • Demonstrated commitment to the provision of high level customer service;
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in addition to effectively contributing to a team;
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks;
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to refer matters to senior staff on duty as appropriate.

Salary range -Up to $71K per annum (pro rata) (incl super) dependent on the skills, qualifications and relevant experience of the suitable candidate.
