Library Learning Lead

  • Permanent Full Time (weekend work required)
  • Salary Range: $94,333 - $98,538 p/a
  • Location: Brighton

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager Customer Experience & Library Services, you will be responsible for leading and managing the programs and events for adults, youth and children with a focus on early literacy reading, learning and digital learning to provide a quality library service and customer experience for the community.

The role will also manage a range of projects that create inclusive and vibrant spaces where the community connect and foster a customer focused culture throughout the Library Services Team and to meet business operational objectives and Council and Libraries SA strategic goals.

With your professional managerial skills, you will provide expert advice, support and guidelines to the library team and wider library network. You will provide learning programs and event management which demonstrate innovation and creativity.

This role requires some out of hours work including evening opening hours and rostered weekends as well as attendance at official meetings or events after hours.

The right person will have skills and experience in the following:

  • Library tertiary qualification as recognised by the Australian Library & Information Association or relevant tertiary qualification or experience in a leadership role.
  • Leadership role within a library (preferably in a Public Library) managing and developing a service delivery team.
  • Understanding of customer demographics and demand and how they relate to service delivery and facility and resource management.
  • Knowledge of digital technology and digital literacy including literature and information resources in all media formats.
  • Resource management, mentoring and coaching individuals to deliver quality outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of SA Public Library practice for events and programs.
  • Developing innovative programs and events.
  • Understanding of early literacy development and lifelong learning practices.
  • Microsoft Office library systems, request management and records management systems.
  • Unencumbered Australian driver’s licence.
