Job Description

About the role 

This position is responsible for administering, maintaining and enhancing library technology and applications to provide high quality experiences and seamless service access to library customers. 

On a daily basis, you will:

  • Provide first level support by assessing, prioritising and resolving library technology issues.
  • Produce, review and maintain library technology and related software procedures and operational manuals for use by library staff.
  • Coordinate and liaise with library technology suppliers, ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of all library technologies.
  • Liaise with Branch Team Leaders, Programming and Collections staff to support a contemporary library service. You will also act as the key liaison between Council’s ICT department and the libraries.

You may also be rostered to provide customer service across our seven library locations, which may include evening and weekend shifts.

About you 

Your background extends beyond technical proficiency; you possess a keen understanding of technologies within libraries to deliver exceptional customer service. 

You have demonstrated experience liaising with and managing contractors and  suppliers as well as a proven ability to work with initiative and versatility.

You also have a proven ability to deliver significant, cross-functional projects, policies or strategies on time and on budget, managing the needs of multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Science/Librarianship or a related discipline: or relevant demonstrable experience
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Working with Children Check
  • Criminal History Check

What’s on offer 

This is a permanent full-time position.

We are offering an attractive remuneration from $82,408 to $90,775 plus 11% superannuation.
