- $84,689.37 to $103,020.77 plus 11% superannuation
- Permanent full time position with a rostered day off (RDO) every three weeks

About the role
Woollahra Council has an exciting opportunity for a Local History Librarian to join our dedicated and dynamic team at Woollahra Libraries on a permanent full-time basis.Working as part of the Local History team, this role will conduct research and deliver innovative projects that connect the community with Woollahra’s rich local history and cultural heritage including the Woollahra Council Plaque Scheme.
The Local History Librarian will assist with digitisation and cataloguing of items to make our unique historical resources accessible 24/7.
Library customer service is a key component of this role and you will actively participate in working on the Library floor so a passion for the community and delivering exceptional customer service is essential
About you:
We are looking for a self-motivated and innovative professional with exceptional research abilities who is enthusiastic about local history and delivering excellence in a state of the art Library Service. You will be a high achiever with:
- Qualification Degree/Graduate Diploma in Librarianship/Information Science/Archives/Museum Studies or equivalent.
- Demonstrated excellent research and writing skills including report writing and knowledge of local history resources.
- Experience in managing local history collections both physical and digital in a public library environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of digitisation, metadata and cataloguing.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, planning and managing events and programs for the community within a cultural institution.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver training to staff and customers in the use of local history resources.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- An enthusiastic and engaging approach to providing excellent customer service.
- Current Working with Children check.
- Demonstrated understanding of EEO and WH&S.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake the physical requirements of the position as outlined in Section 7 of the position description.
