Pennant Hills Librarian

Position Type 

Permanent part time (21 hours per week) 

Salary 

$1,788.00 - $2,004.00 per fortnight (based on 42 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience.

About the role 

The position is responsible to the Pennant Hills Library Co-ordinator. It is a professional position that relies heavily on teamwork and requires that work be prioritised according to customer need. Tasks must be undertaken in a timely manner. 

The Pennant Hills Librarian position has the following major components: 

  • Information and customer services 
  • Supervision 
  • Maintenance of collections and facilities 
  • Staff and customer training 
  • Support of library services and programs 

Position requirements 

You will be involved with staff supervision and training, library promotion, collection management, and the support of activities and events. 

A Degree in Information Science or its equivalent (accepted by ALIA for professional membership) is essential. 

A current Working with Children Check is also essential.

You are an enthusiastic, customer-focused professional with good interpersonal and communication skills, who is able to work independently and as a member of a team, with strong accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to meet agreed deadlines.
