The Opportunity
Are you passionate about providing excellent customer service and supporting your community through access to information, learning, and library services? Moonee Valley City Council is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Library Customer Service Officer to join our Libraries and Learning team. As part of our vibrant service delivery team, you will play a crucial role in creating a connected, socially inclusive environment for our library users. You will be part of a dynamic team that values continuous learning and development, while making a positive impact on the community.
Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service by promptly assisting users in a courteous, accurate, and consistent manner while ensuring all obligations, agreements and deadlines are met to achieve positive outcomes for those dealing with the City of Moonee Valley.
- Proactively engage with customers in a self-service environment, offering support for technology and equipment use (computers, photocopiers, wireless internet, eBooks, library apps, etc.).
- Maintain the efficient operation of the library, including opening and closing procedures and providing relief at other library locations when needed.
- Provide support to community groups using library meeting rooms and learning facilities.
- Operate within Moonee Valley City Council’s policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have successfully completed Year 12 and possess a strong understanding of the role public libraries play within the community. They will have proven experience in frontline customer service and demonstrate a high level of proficiency with computer and mobile technologies, coupled with extensive knowledge of the online environment. Additionally, the candidate will excel at working as part of a team and showcase well-developed organisational and time management skills.
