This position is classified as a PACS Band 4 ($67,425 - $73,621 p.a, pro rata) under the City of Kwinana’s structured remuneration system.

The City of Kwinana has a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Library Officer to join our amazing Library Services team. Reporting to the Library Operations Supervisor, you will work collaboratively with the Library Services team and volunteers to deliver a high level of customer service, with the aim to increase library usage and membership. This position supports daily library operations and provides guidance, advice and information on library resources and services to library customers.

Candidates with experience in the delivery of activities or programs will be highly regarded. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Library Officer who is passionate about supporting and serving the community.

About You

  1. Experience in the development and delivery of high quality, responsive and customer-focused library services.
  2. Demonstrated ability to resolve reference and research enquiries; sound knowledge of a range of relevant library systems.
  3. Understanding of different types of literacy and experience supporting literacy development in the community.
  4. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and work in a team environment.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey ideas and information to diverse groups with a clear focus on customer service.
  6. Experience working with high performing teams and creating a supportive workplace culture.
  7. Well-developed time management and organisational skills.
  8. Available to work after hours and weekends as rostered and/or required.
  9. Possession of a current national Police Clearance and Driver’s Licence. Willingness to obtain a First Aid Certificate.
