  • Based at Clayton Library with the opportunity to work at other City of Monash locations

About the Position:

The Digital Literacy Librarian is responsible for developing and delivering a range of library services and programs with a focus on digital literacy and confidence using technology to support the Monash community. We're looking for someone with an awareness of emerging technologies, confidence in navigating the digital landscape, and a passion for helping diverse community members navigate through digital divide.

The incumbent will also work as part of the customer service team providing an efficient and effective library and information service to meet the library needs of the Monash community across our library branches, including evening and weekend shifts.

About You:

  • A tertiary degree qualification in Librarianship, Information Management or related discipline and eligibility for professional membership (librarian) of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA); 
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, provision and evaluation of training and learning programs and support and develop a range of community programs to increase library engagement; 
  • Proven and current knowledge of technology including online resources, mobile devices, social media applications and emerging technologies and their application to achieve community outcomes; 
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence, including experience to dealing with difficult customers; 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to collaborate as part of a team;
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and complete work to a high standard, within set timelines and with competing priorities; 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in reporting and program planning, including well-developed storytelling skills;

Requirements of the position:

  • A current and valid Victorian Drivers Licence;
  • Working with Children Check (Employee);
  • Satisfactory National Police Check;
  • Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements; and
