Salary range from: $130,762.43 to $156,133.87 pa + 10% superannuation
+ access to Private / Pool leaseback vehicle or $9,000 vehicle offset allowance
35 hours per week with access to flexi time
Stanton Library is a quality customer focused library service located in a beautiful park setting near a busy CBD, close to public transport and recreational facilities.
We currently have an exciting, rare opportunity for an experienced Manager to lead our dedicated Library Services team at Stanton Library.
This position is responsible for the management of the Stanton Library and Historical Services departments to meet the outcomes of the North Sydney Council Delivery and Operational Plans.
You will also be responsible for the development and implementation of the strategic vision and operations of the Library, Heritage Centre and Museums, as well as leading the library services department in providing programs, services, collections and facilities that meet the needs of the North Sydney Community.
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in library studies or associated discipline, recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association.
- Substantial experience in library operational and staff management.
- Extensive experience and knowledge across a range of contemporary library service issues and a sound working knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks.
- Experience in building and leading staff teams and developing a positive staff culture
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering strategic objectives, including effective project management and change management skills.
- High level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively represent the library and negotiate with a range of stakeholders.
- Thorough understanding of administrative, budgetary and financial planning and procedures, with a proven ability to deliver cost effective services to the community.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Desirable
- Experience in developing and delivering customer consultation and community engagement activities.
- Knowledge and interest in local history and heritage, along with a solid understanding of issues and considerations in managing historical collections and properties
- Vaccinated against COVID-19
