As a result, we are seeking an energetic and creative individual to join our team to assist in developing and delivering high quality programs and services to Library clients through outreach activities within the local community.

What we will offer you:

  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • Remuneration of $2,273.04 minimum gpf with the opportunity to progress to $2,727.65 gpf + superannuation.

Your new role:

The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Liaising with organisations and groups to identify partnerships and opportunities to deliver literary and other related programs to external parties e.g. schools
  • Researching and recommending new and innovative programs and services.
  • Delivering a variety of programs, both in-house and outreach, under the direction of the Outreach Services Team Leader and in collaboration with other team members for example story time, school holiday programs, youth activities, seniors’ classes, social media classes, intergenerational programs and author talks. Program delivery is to occur at both the Wagga Wagga City Library, located in the Civic Centre and off-site as required.
  • Conducting the Agile Library service as required including processing borrowings, returns and library memberships and cash handling at designated sites across rural villages and suburbs located in the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area.
  • Undertake promotional, publicity and marketing activities associated with the delivery of programs and services through the use of social media tools and more traditional methods.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Relevant qualifications and program delivery experience including a passion for engaging in creative and innovative activities;
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check;
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence;
  • Demonstrated passion for working in a team environment; and

What we will offer you:

Remuneration of $1,195.06 gpf + superannuation in accordance with part time hours of work arrangements with weekend penalty rates applicable.

  • Part-Time – Eighteen (18) hours per week (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) as follows:

Your new role:
This position is responsible for ensuring the provision of quality customer service to clients of the Library and assisting the Manager Library Services by providing guidance, support and direction to the Library Services Team on the weekends.

Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Library including staff rosters, purchasing and event documentation;
  • Perform Team Leader role on Saturdays and Sundays allocating tasks to other staff and operating as the senior officer for information services;
  • Lead, engage and develop the Library Services weekend staff;
  • Oversee circulation desk operations and maintenance including processing borrowings and returns and library memberships;
  • Provide advice and support to customers with information and technology enquiries;
  • Assist with delivery of technology classes like Tech Savvy Seniors.
  • Liaise with Riverina Regional Library to resolve technology issues relating to RRL supported library management systems (Libero); and
  • Liaise with Council’s Information Services Division to resolve technology issues relating to Council supported equipment and software.

Language is often a barrier for people from different backgrounds, but the Language Café program brings the community closer together through the power of conversation. Three times a week, community volunteers help participants practice their English through conversation in Council’s Community Learning Space. The Wagga Wagga community has 99 language groups and through the Language Café we are assisting everyone from new arrivals to Australia to skilled migrants.

What we will offer you:

  • Permanent part-time position to be worked fourteen (14) hours per week each Tuesday and Friday.
  • Remuneration of $909.22 gpf + superannuation based on part-time hours of work arrangements.

Your new role:
In this role you will be responsible for:

About the opportunity

Blacktown City Libraries is seeking two energetic, highly motivated, and customer-focused part-time Library Technicians to join our Customer Service team at the Mount Druitt Library Hub:

  • 1 x Permanent, part-time - 20 hours per week
  • 1 x Permanent, part-time - 17.5 hours per week.

The successful applicants will be highly proficient in the delivery of outstanding customer service, have knowledge of current library and technology trends and be willing to participate in delivering library programs and activities. Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Library Technician Diploma, Associate Diploma or equivalent, as recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and independently

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • A competitive salary range of $1,130.10 - $1,265.70 (Grade 5) per week will be offered based on skills, qualifications and experience

About the role

The Library Content Development and Logistics Coordinator will be pivotal in the coordination of our Library Logistics Hub, facilitating responsive content development, processing and distribution.

To succeed in this role, you will have extensive experience managing high volume library content development and logistics, as well as proven experience in developing high performing teams. 

You will have demonstrated ability to provide original and creative recommendations to inform content curation strategies and extensive experience and competency in content profile development and performance management using data measurement, analytics tools and evidence based methodologies.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess a tertiary qualification that is relevant to this role as well as a strong understanding of library technologies, industry best practice and high-level interpersonal skills to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, service providers and diverse audiences.

About the role

Bathurst Library provides library programs and activities to the Bathurst community, a mobile library, an extensive collection of items to borrow and a vibrant community space with access to information and technology.

We are currently looking for a part-time Programs Assistant (21 hours per week) to join our team on a 12 month Parental Leave contract. In this role you will have the opportunity to work with an enthusiastic and passionate team and play an essential part in the delivery of high-quality programs for children, youth and adults. You will also be involved in the planning and delivery of the mobile and home library service, special events and library marketing and promotions. Other duties will include assisting library users with locating information and library materials and providing technology assistance on a day to day basis.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum Year 12 Higher School Certificate or equivalent
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a customer service setting
  • High level communication skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and experience
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office suite, digital apps and platforms, mobile devices
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Working with Children’s Check or willingness to acquire
  • Class C NSW Driver’s Licence

Salary: $628.38 to $660.20 per week + super (plus weekend penalty loading)
