About the role
The Content and Collections Librarian undertakes high level support for the Library Content and Collections Coordinator in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of high-performing and accessible library content and collections for Ipswich Libraries.
With a key focus on collections management, you will be working within a high-performing team that delivers library content, collections, Home Library service, interlibrary loans and Picture Ipswich.
The position will partner, collaborate and provide high level support across all Library sections in the delivery and management of Library collections across a variety of formats and delivery platforms.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Manage and optimise Library Management Software and technology
- Advise on cataloguing, copyright, privacy, and licensing
- Analyse and report on library system efficiency and trends
- Lead and develop team performance and collaboration
- Contribute to both routine and strategic project initiatives
- Develop policies and processes for continuous improvement
- Maintain supplier relationships to uphold service levels

About you
To be successful in this role you will have
- Tertiary qualification in a related field and/or demonstrated technical experience in library content and collection operations
- Current Queensland C Class Driver’s Licence
- Substantial experience using one or more types of Library Management Software
- Sound level of proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools such as MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
- High attention to detail and a solutions-based mindset with an appetite for solving interesting problems
- Belief in our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership
